The Jenson & Nicholson-Snowcem joint venture could brighten up the paint industry
If you thought that Colour Union was yet another yuppy shirt brand, forget the thought. It is a joint venture company set up by leading paint players Jenson & Nicholson and Snowcem (India) Ltd. The tie-up is the culmination of a long search by both companies for suitable partners.
The 50:50 venture, christened Colour Union is the first joint coat in the paint industry. This marketing alliance aims to give both the players a richer palette of colours and widen reach even as their market shares are gradually fading. In other words, they expect to paint the town red as a joint force.
Says Prakash Nagori, managing director, Killick Nixon Ltd, the holding company of the Rs 209 crore Snowcem:
