Aban Offshore today said it has extended contract by a year with an undiclosed operator which might help it to generate an additional $39.25 million revenue.
"The estimated revenues from this additional period of one year would be approximately $39.25 million," Aban Offshore said in a filing to the BSE.
Without naming, Aban Offshore said the operator with whom a contract was signed for the deployment of the jack-up Rig "Deep Driller 1" extended the contract till the last quarter of 2012.
Aban Offshore's scrips shot up 5.77% to Rs 425.85 apiece at the BSE.
The company reported a net loss of Rs 21.60 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as compared to a net profit of Rs 71 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
