Aban Offshore gets contract extension for Malaysian rig

Chennai-based offshore drilling contractor Aban Offshore has received a contract for the continued deployment of the rig Deep Driller 3 offshore Malaysia for a 4 year period in direct continuation of its present contract, which is expected to end early October 2008, the company informed Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The estimated revenues from the contract would be approximately $ 241 million (equivalent to Rs 1,133 crore). At 1110 hrs, the company’s share on the BSE was trading at Rs 1,958, down about 4% from the previous close.
