Ajay Kumar Pandey to take over as MD & Group CEO at GIFT City

Replaces Ramakant Jha who takes charge as CEO of IL&FS Group's Smart City focused new initiative

The Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) is set to get a new managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO). Ajay Kumar Pandey, a telecom industry veteran, has been inducted as MD and CEO (designate) from July 14, 2015 even as he is set to take charge With effect from August 1, 2015.

Pandey takes over from Ramakant Jha, who has steered the mega project since November 2009, to make it India's first global level 'smart city'.

 

Jha, who has been instrumental in GIFT City getting the country's first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), will move to Mumbai as CEO of IL&FS's Smart City initiative.

Pandey, on the other hand, brings with him three decades of global & domestic experience in the field of telecommunications. He has worked in senior management positions in Tata Telecommunications, Tata Teleservices and Neotel.
