Public sector lender Andhra Bank today said its net profit has increased 62 per cent to Rs 201.21 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31 over the corresponding period a year ago.
The bank had a net profit of Rs 124.25 crore in January-March quarter of 2008-09 fiscal, Andhra Bank informed the stock exchanges.
Total income of the state-run lender rose to Rs 1,827.10 crore during the last quarter of FY'09 from Rs 1,342.95 crore in same quarter the previous fiscal.
The bank has declared a dividend of 45 per cent to its shareholders for the year 2008-09. For the financial year ended March 31, 2009, Andhra Bank posted a net profit of Rs 653.05 crore, registering a 13 per cent rise from Rs 575.57 crore the previous fiscal.
Total income during the FY'09 rose to Rs 6,139.99 crore from Rs 4,836.02 crore in FY'08. Shares of Andhra Bank were trading at Rs 61.85, up 0.08 per cent in the afternoon trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
