Anupam Khanna joins Nasscom as DG and Chief Economist

IT industry body Nasscom has appointed Anupam Khanna as Chief Economist and Director-General Policy Outreach.

In this role, Khanna will lead overall design and implementation of policy development and engagement strategies for Nasscom and the industry at large, Nasscom said.

"As part of the future directions work for Nasscom, undertaken by the Executive Council, it was recommended that Nasscom will need to enhance its role around thought leadership and deepen our capabilities for strategic analysis and policy formulation," Nasscom President Som Mittal said.

Nasscom will benefit a great deal from Khanna's rich professional experience, spanning across continents and sectors, including technology, industry, energy, telecom, urban development, especially in major emerging markets, he added.
