Aptech has posted a standalone net profit of Rs 56.98 lakh up 149.69 per cent for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 22.82 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year.

The revenue for the quarter at Rs 25.78 crore was up 18 per cent from Rs 21.87 crore for the corresponding quarter ended March 31, 2007.

Pramod Khera, CEO and MD, Aptech, said, "Aptech has been able to sustain the growth it set out to achieve in its retail education businesses. Armed with new products for every segment, we are sure our education brands, Aptech Computer Education, Arena Animation, Avalon Aviation Academy and N Power will continue to capture the market and post handsome growth."

Four Soft in the black

Hyderabad-based logistics and supply chain solution provider Four Soft turned around with a net profit of Rs 4.52 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, as against a net loss of Rs 10.39 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenues from operations saw a marginal increase of 6.14 per cent to Rs 43.69 crore, as compared with Rs 41.16 crore during the same period last year.

For the full year, the company's net profit stood at Rs 4.76 crore, as compared with Rs 94.76 lakh last year, and revenues from operations grew 5.7 per cent to Rs 172.73 crore, as against Rs 163.4 crore.

"Revenues from licence and maintenance, client acquisitions and optimised operations helped the firm to post a rise," Biju S Nair, senior vice-president (finance and HR), Four Soft, said.

Logix Microsystems net at Rs 16.01 cr

Software products company Logix Microsystems, focused on automotive e-retailing, has reported a net profit of Rs 16.01 crore in the fiscal 2007-08. The profits are up 80 per cent as against Rs 8.87 crore in the previous year.

The net sales clocked a growth of 55 per cent at Rs 46.15 crore as compared to Rs 29.75 crore last year. Logix has declared an interim dividend of 40 per cent for the FY 2007-08.

Company Managing Director Sanjay Soni attributed the growth to the strong demand of Logix products, platforms, services and solutions in the US.
