Electrical equipment manufacturer Areva T&D India today said it has bagged two projects worth Rs 280 crore from the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for installation of two sub-stations at Punjab and Haryana.

The company has bagged two contracts from PGCIL for supply and installation of two'extra high voltage' projects at Moga and Bhiwani in Punjab and Haryana, respectively, Areva T&D said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"These two orders from Moga and Bhiwani demonstrate Areva T&D's expertise and leadership in the extra high voltage segment," Areva T&D chairman and CEO Philippe Guillemot said.

The installation of substations would enable PGCIL to cater the increasing energy load requirements in the region, the filing said.

Both Moga and Bhiwani plants are scheduled for commissioning by the end of first quarter of 2012, it said.

The combined value of the two contracts is RS 280 crore.

Shares of Areva T&D were trading at Rs 269.80 on BSE, up 0.32 per cent from its previous close.
