Arvind Ltd posts standalone net of Rs 73 cr in Q4

Registered a standalone net profit of Rs 67.75 cr for corresponding period last year

Continuing growth on the back of its textiles and branded apparel & retail business, Arvind Limited posted a standalone net profit of Rs 73 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2016. The company had registered a standalone net profit of Rs 67.75 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Arvind Ltd's total standalone income for Q4 of fiscal 2015-16 stood at Rs 1,439.26 crore whereas the same was Rs 1,381.53 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015, the company informed in its BSE filing.

According to the company, post demerger of its real estate business and transfer to its wholly owned subsidiary Arvind Infrastructure Limited (AIL) with effect from April 1, 2015, the results were not strictly comparable with previous corresponding periods.

In its standalone year ended results, the company saw a net profit of Rs 318.85 crore for the year ended March 31, 2016 where as the same was at Rs 377.43 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015. On the other hand, the total standalone annual income was about Rs 5,513.58 crore for the year ended March 31, 2016 where as the same was at Rs 5,352.94 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015.

According to Jayesh Shah, director and chief financial officer, Arvind Limited, apart from textiles business, the company's brands business continued to grow by 30 per cent CAGR for Q4.

"Our established power brands consolidated their market positions and the recent additions in speciality retail formats got off to a strong start. We are also extremely excited to lunch India's first True Omni Channel Experience - NNNow.com. This new initiative will bring a paradigm shift in the Indian fashion & lifestyle e-commerce space. NNNow.com is Arvind's attempt to move away from the discount driven e-commerce market to a brand led shopping journeys. NNNow.com redefines shopping for Indian consumers by linking online and offline retail shopping experience," Shah said.

On consolidated basis, the quarterly results of Arvind Limited saw a net profit after taxes & minority interest of Rs 110.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 where as the same was at Rs 48.23 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015. The company's total consolidated income for Q4 was around Rs 2,340.37 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 where as the same was at Rs 2063.48 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

Annually, the group posted a consolidated net profit after taxes & minority interest of Rs 362.7 crore for the year ended March 31, 2016 where as the same was at Rs 341.10 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015. Meanwhile, the total consolidated annual income of Arvind came to around Rs 8546.82 crore for the year ended March 31, 2016. The consolidated total annual income of Arvind Limited for the year ended March 31, 2015 was Rs 7944.60 crore.
