Autodesk introduces cloud in India

Autodesk, a global leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, has announced the launch of Autodesk Cloud for the Indian market.

Autodesk Cloud is a collection of more than a dozen web-based capabilities, products and services that enable customers to enhance their desktops with mobility, new viewing and sharing capabilities and more computing power.

The company said the service would offer designers, engineers and digital artists new capabilities like 3D visual communication, simulation and collaboration, features once limited only to organisations with access to expensive, high-end supercomputing centres. Autodesk works with multiple partners, including Amazon and Citrix, providing scalable cloud computing infrastructure.

"Autodesk Cloud would help Indian customers, both large and small, drive better cost control and greater competitiveness, especially in the key industries of manufacturing and infrastructure, which are important contributors to India's GDP (gross domestic product) growth," said Jayant Keswani, head (marketing), Autodesk India.
