India’s second-biggest bike maker, Bajaj Auto, today posted an increase of 112 per cent in sales of motorcycles at 232,939 units in January, with major contributions coming from the newly-launched products under the Pulsar and Discover brands.
Sales of Pulsar reached an all-time high (in a month) to 71,970 units during January this year. The company had recorded sales of 109,666 units in the same month a year ago.
Meanwhile, Honda Motorcycle Scooter India (HMSI), the country’s fourth-largest bike producer, posted an increase of 25 per cent in sales to 118,571 units in the same month, compared with 94,982 units posted in the same month a year earlier.
Motorcycle sales for the company grew 19 per cent to 47,815 units, while scooters posted a growth of 29 per cent 70,756 units.
