Baumuller group opens tech centre in Pune

Is eyeing a business of Rs 35 core from India.

Germany based Baumuller Group, manufacturers of innovative automation and electric drive systems has opened a new centre in Pune and eying a business of Rs 35 core from India.

This centre will cater Baumuller's services for automation solutions and offer services like installations, fitting, and relocation required for the mechanical engineering industry. Commenting on this, Atul Dave, president, Baumuller India said, "In the past two years Baumuller India have demonstrated successfully the superior performance and the cost benefits in plastic, packaging, printing, textiles etc. industries by commissioning automation drives, motors and system equipments. The initial focus will be to further penetrate the plastics, textile and packaging industries. In order to offer this service throughout the country and to reduce response time in case of need, Baumuller India is working closely with selected channel partners. In future, it is planned to further intensify these partnerships in the form of a channel partner network."

Jochen Loy, chief financial officer, Baumuller Group said, "The expansion of the Baumuller engagement in India is primarily in recognition of the importance and potential of this region as a growth market of the future.”

He further added, “The establishment of the subsidiary located in the engineering centre of Pune is an important step, both in developing the local market and in supporting global customers who are expanding their activities in Asia."

'The strategic goal of Baumuller India is to position Baumuller as a complete solution provider and systems partner. New customers will be targeted from all sectors of mechanical engineering and long term relationships with existing customers will be enhanced," he added.

Also, Baumuller India have expanded their operations and are placing sales cum service representatives in Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Chennai. These include installation and commissioning, preventative maintenance packages, professional diagnosis and repairs, and tailored retrofit solutions.
