After the launch of e-books by online retailer Flipkart through its digital store Flyte, another player in online segment Bookadda is also planning to launch an e-book application. The company is planning to launch the application in the first half 2013. It also said that the application will be available on various platforms like Android, Windows and istore.
"We are planning to launch the ebook app soon. We are not a horizontal site we are focused only on books specially on academic where we see a huge opportunity. With the launch of ebooks, we will be able to bundle books and load it for students so that they can use in a much better way,” said Hemant Kohli, Co-founder and CEO, Bookadda.
Bookadda, which had raised Series A venture capital from a fund promoted by Mohandas Pai and Ranjan Pai, Aarin Capital, and Zodius Capital also runs an exclusive store for academic students called Acadzone.com. The company, which started the exclusive academic booking offering in 2012, believes that it will contribute more to its revenues.

The company has got a network of colleges and universities across the country and it covers around 24,000 towns in the country.
"The student community is between the age 3-30 years and through acadzone we are trying to address the needs of a huge community. We want to make learning fun for students,” added Kohli.
