With demand growing by 30 per cent annually in the IT industry, Vadodara-based Collabera Technologies Pvt. Ltd. steps up plan for another software delivery centre in Gujarat while it eyes 50 per cent growth in its temporary staffing business.

A captive unit of Collabera Inc, the company offers temporary staffing solutions for IT and ITeS companies. Equipped with a database of 1.2 million IT professionals available for temporary hiring, Collabera Technologies is looking to leverage the growing demand in the segment.

"Flexible work force helps the IT industry maintain a tight bench at the same time allowing companies to access talent at short notice. The Indian IT industry is just waking up to the advantages of having large contingent workforce and is likely to emulate the global pattern of about 20-25 per cent contingent workers. Temporary staffing in India is slowly maturing and more and more sectors are opening to it, with employees shedding their inhibitions and preferring short term assignment so that they are free to follow their other passions when not working," said Mehul Shah, managing director, Collabera.

According to Shah, the industry is set to witness a growth pattern of 30-40 per cent in next 2-3 years.
