It may be recalled, on May 23 last, DICV along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, another entity of Daimler Trucks, based in Japan, launched the new Fuso range of trucks at DICV's plant at Oragadam, near Chennai. Marc Llistosella, MD & CEO, DICV, commented that going forward, more trucks will be exported to other Asian and African markets.
The Fuso trucks range manufactured at DICV's Oragadam plant comprise five models spanning medium / heavy -duty (25 - 49 tonnes) and light /medium-duty (9-16 tonnes).
DICV has set up a its production plant at Oragadam, near Chennai which is spreads over more than 400 acres (160 hectares).
It includes a test track designed to simulate Indian conditions. DICV has a total dedicated investment of over Rs 4,400 crore (around $700 million).
