Lohchab said that the DHBVN has been facing acute shortage of staff affecting consumer service.
To overcome the shortage, 1533 employees would shortly be recruited including 63 Sub Divisional Officers (SDO), 162 Junior Engineers (JE), 20 Accountants, 1000 Assistant Linemen (ALM), 100 Shift Attendants (SA), 66 Upper Divisional Clerks (UDC) and 142 Lower Divisional Clerks (LDC). With the recruitment of the staff, the consumer service would improve considerably, the Chairman said.
He revealed that the process of restructuring of the staffing pattern would also be completed shortly and thereafter, quite a sizeable additional number of posts would be filled by open recruitment.
Lohchab said that power supply position in the state has improved considerably with the start of generation from Deen Bandhu Chhottu Ram Thermal Power Plant, Yamunanagar.
