The city-based speciality chemicals company, Dorf Ketal Chemicals, has acquired the global specialty catalysts business of DuPont Chemicals and Fluoro products for an undisclosed sum.
"The latest acquisition is to consolidate our position in the newer product segments such as specialty catalysts. As a part of the deal, Dorf Ketal has also acquired Du Pont assets associated with the business, including trademarks, sales, marketing and customer service" Dorf Ketal Chemicals Chairman and Managing Director Sudhir Menon said.
Dorf Ketal deals in the organo-metallic titanates space. Titanate is a powdered white inorganic acid, H2TiO3, derived from an acid solution of titanates and used as a mordant.
Ernst & Young India was the financial advisor for the transaction. At present, Dorf Ketal has subsidiaries in the USA, Netherlands and Brazil and representative offices in China and Bahrain.
