EI DuPont India, a subsidiary of US-based E I DuPont, is eyeing 18 per cent growth in India during the calendar year 2009.

"Despite the economic slowdown worldwide, India is one of the fastest growing markets for the company. We hope to achieve a growth rate of 18 per cent during the year," a company official told PTI.

The company's revenue in India during 2008 was around Rs 2,500 crore.

The official said that in the last five years, DuPont's compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) was 24 per cent.

DuPont, which has a strong base in research and development, plans to double the head count at the DuPont Knowledge Centre (DKC) in Hyderabad -- the first outside the US -- to 200 in the next four years, the official said, adding that it would also invest Rs 130 crore during 2009 the knowledge centre.

DuPont has five business platforms in India and manufacturing bases at Savli near Baroda and Madurai.
