ConveGenius, a Noida-based edutainment solutions startup, has raised Rs 2 crore in a fresh round of funding aided by Enablers, a web-based platform connecting and facilitating fundraising transactions between investors and startups. The investment comes as a pre Series-A round while the company prepares for the larger Series-A round in the near future.

The fresh capital raised from investors based out of India and Southeast Asia will be used for product enhancements and expansion of their technology and content aggregation team.

ConveGenius has recently launched its gamified learning app, Battle of Minds. It is also gearing up to launch its business-to-business (B2B) product CG-Slate for children in pre-school and primary within the next quarter.

The company had earlier told Business Standard that it was in the process of raising $2.5 million in a Series-A round of funding, which it proposed to deploy in enhancing its product offerings besides targeting the urban poor in the first year.

Founded in 2013 by IIIT-Hyderabad alumni Jairaj Bhattacharya and Shashank Pandey, ConveGenius is 'mobile-only' with products focused on education and skill development for emerging markets via the power of smartphones. ConveGenius has reached out to more than 50,000 students in the last one-and-a-half year via its products.

"The aim is to provide access to educational content, and opportunities such as scholarships, career counselling and jobs to the masses by building products that are agnostic to vernaculars and the paying capacity of our users," Jairaj Bhattacharya, Co-founder of ConveGenius, said in a statement on Tuesday.
