Emirates Holidays, part of the Emirates Group, today signed an agreement with TUI India and destination management firm Le Passage to India targeting both inbound and outbound tourism from the country.

As per the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed today, while TUI India will be the preferred sales agent for promoting Emirates Holidays in the country, Le Passage to India will be the exclusive destination management company for Emirates Holidays for India, Bhutan and Nepal.

"As two of the largest companies in the global travel sector, we see great advantage from leveraging the strength of both the Emirates Group and TUI Travel PLC to create opportunities and added value to our customers and our respective businesses," TUI Travel PLC Director of Tour Operations New Markets Jeannette Linfoot said.

While TUI India is a 50:50 joint partnership between Le Passage to India and TUI Travel PLC, Emirates Holidays is the tour-operating arm of Emirates airline.

"India is a very important country for us. By 2016, we are targeting a 10 per cent share of our business (both inbound and outbound) coming from India," Emirates Destination & Leisure Management Divisional Senior Vice President Marc Bennett told reporters.

Emirates Holidays has also launched an extensive offline and online marketing campaign, 'Hello Dubai' across key cities in India to promote Dubai as a destination, he added.
