Foreign, domestic airlines seek tie-ups with Paramount

International and domestic airlines have sought tie-ups with Paramount Airways and the company is evaluating the offers, Managing Director M Thiagarajan said here.

Talking to reporters here today, he said Malaysian airline Air-Asia, which would be operating its flights from Tiruchirappalli to Malaysia shortly, has asked for marketing help in different aspects. If there was reciprocity, it could enter into tie-ups with various airlines, he said.

He said the economic recession the world over and the impact of terrorist attacks in Mumbai did not affect the airline, as it was a 'market leader in South India' and it flew to destinations where there was no problem.

He said the company planned to buy two more aircraft by 2009 and also operate international flights once Madurai's airport got "international" status. "We are looking into the possibility of operating international flights from Chennai also," he said.
