Fortis Healthcare (India) today said its promoter group firm Fortis Healthcare Holdings has pledged 0.77% stake in the company for an estimated Rs 47 crore.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Fortis Healthcare (India) said the promoter group firm pledged 31,22,000 shares, representing 0.77% of the total outstanding shares of the company on March 7.
As per the closing price of the company on the day of transaction on the BSE, the deal is estimated to be around Rs 47 crore.
The filing, however, did not specify to whom the shares have been pledged.
With this, Fortis Healthcare Holdings Ltd has pledged a total of 14,93,95,500 shares of the healthcare firm, representing 36.88% stake.
Last week, the company had changed its name from Fortis Healthcare Ltd to Fortis Healthcare (India).
The firm has entered into a collaboration with US-based TotipotentRX Cell Therapy to set up stem cell therapy centres across its select hospitals.
Earlier this month, another promoter group firm Fortis Global Healthcare Holdings announced its foray into Sri Lankan market by acquiring 28.6% stake in Lanka Hospitals Corporation Plc for $36.3 million (over Rs 160 crore).
Shares of the company today closed 0.76% down at Rs 149.70 on the BSE.
