Freshdesk, cloud-based customer support software headquartered out of San Francisco, announced on Monday that it has secured a new $50 million (over Rs 300 crore) round of financing led by Tiger Global, and joined by Accel Partners and Google Capital.

Founded four years ago by two Indians---CEO Girish Mathrubootham and CTO Shan Krishnasamy, the company has seen rapid adoption from small and mid-sized businesses globally. The new round of financing comes at the end of a year in which Freshdesk doubled its customer base to 40,000. The company has a development centre in Chennai.

The new round of financing brings the total funding raised by Freshdesk to $94 million. All three of the investors in this round participated in the company's Series D financing announced in June of 2014.

The new round of funding will help the company further invest in its products and scale to meet fast-growing demand for its Freshdesk and Freshservice support platforms.

Freshdesk's customer support solution makes it easy for companies to interact seamlessly with customers across all channels, including social and mobile.

"Freshdesk enables companies of all sizes deliver world-class customer service. This investment will help us continue to evolve our products and scale our business to meet demand from customers around the world. We are excited about the shared commitment that our investors have in Freshdesk and our vision," said Mathrubootham.
