GACL posts 19% jump in Q1 net profit

Net sales rose to Rs 438.51 crore in the first quarter of 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 418 crore in the same period last year

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) today posted a 19% jump in its standalone net profit at Rs 55.27 crore for the quarter ended June 30 on higher sales.
The company's profit stood at Rs 46.70 crore in the same period last year, the GACL said in a filing to the BSE.
Net sales rose to Rs 438.51 crore in the first quarter of 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 418 crore in the same period last year.
GACL, one of largest producer of caustic soda in the country, has a production capacity of 1,087 tonnes per day.
