Geojit Financial Services will now be called Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services following the open offer in February 2009.
CJ George, CEO, Geojit BNP Paribas, said: "By partnering with BNP Paribas, Geojit will further extend its services to the growing population of non-resident Indians. The company will take advantage of the expertise of BNP Paribas Personal Investors to rapidly develop its online trading business and marketing of mutual funds and life insurance."
He further added: "This increase in equity stake in Geojit Finance will also help us to strengthen our branch networks in India and to make investments in our Middle Eastern joint ventures."
The company believes that India will establish itself as the giant of 21st century, post the current crisis.
