Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd (GHCL) today registered a 33% rise in the net profit for the quarter ended September 2012 at Rs 16.41 crore. The company had reported Rs 12.33 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The company informed BSE that its total income for the quarter stood at Rs 546 crore, up from Rs 464 crore in the same period last year. The revenues from its home textiles division grew over 28% to Rs 249 crore during the quarter as compared to Rs 193.8 crore in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, company's revenues from inorganic chemicals division showed over 9% growth at Rs 296 crore from Rs 270 crore in the same period last year. It may be mentioned here that GHCL is planning to supply textile made-ups to retailers like Bharti Walmart and IKEA. For this the company is also expanding its manufacturing facility at Vapi in Gujarat. GHCL shares closed negative at Rs 40.75 on Monday, down by 0.85% from its previous close on the BSE.
