Car maker General Motors India today said its sales climbed 35.59 per cent to 10,051 units in October this year compared to 7,413 units in the same month last year.
"The increase in the sales was primarily driven by the response to Chevrolet Cruze, Beat and Spark... Other car lines have also registered impressive growth during the month," General Motors India said in a statement.
The company sold 3,251 units of the hatchback Spark, 957 units of the sedan Cruze and 3,021 units of the latest compact car Beat in the reporting month, it added.
It also sold 328 units of premium hatchback Aveo U-Va, 405 units of the entry-level sedan Aveo, 333 units of the mid-sized sedan Optra, 1,594 units of the multi-utility vehicle Tavera and 162 units of the SUV Captiva.
The company had earlier ramped up production by adding the second shifts at Halol and Talegaon plants to meet the increased demand of its products.
