The Gujarat High Court today allowed Adani Enterprise (AEL) MD Rajesh Adani, who was arrested for alleged customs duty evasion, to go out of the city and appear before CBI in Goa for questioning.

Adani had today moved an application requesting change in his bail conditions before Justice H B Antani. He had said that he was willing to appear before CBI in Goa on April 1 and 2 for questioning regarding case registered against him there.

Justice Antani granted the permission to Adani to go out of Ahmedabad from March 31 to April 4.

Adani's main petition asking for quashing of complaint against him is scheduled for hearing on April 8.

Adani was arrested by the CBI on February 27 for allegedly evading customs duty on petroleum products, causing a loss of Rs 1.07 crore to the state exchequer.

He got bail on the same day after his brother Vasant Adani filed a habeas corpus petition before the Gujarat Hight Court. Based on Vasant Adani's petition, Justice R M Doshit granted him bail and ordered his release.

CBI has registered a case against Adani, whose company is part of Rs 26,000-crore Adani Group, 10 Customs officials, Mumbai-based company Ganesh Benjoplast and Goa-based JAE Letavoson clearing firm.
