The new price of CNG would now be Rs 59.75 per kg including all the prevailing taxes as currently applicable. The fall in CNG prices by GGCL comes despite reduction in supply of domestic gas from its suppliers than the contracted quantities,
"This downward revision makes the clean fuel more affordable offering further economic advantage to customers with savings of around 44 per cent compared to the running cost of petrol-driven vehicles," the company said in an official communique.
A group company of GSPC, GGCL has been dispensing CNG to its customers through 58 CNG stations located in its operating area.
The company also supplies natural gas, comprising of domestic natural gas and re-gassified LNG, to residential, commercial and industrial customers in its operating areas that include the districts of Surat and Bharuch for over two decades.
