Havells India launches automation products

The new range will be launched under the company's premium brand Crabtree

Havells India Limited, a fast moving electrical goods company, announced its foray into the integrated automation and control solutions here on Friday.

The new range was launched under the company's premium brand Crabtree. Havells currently imports these products from China as it has entered into a tie-up with China-based HDL Automation.The company considers local manufacturing once the demand picks up for these products, according to Vivek Yadav, vice-president of Havells India.

Automation allows individuals to control lights, appliances, monitor children and elderly people and many more features via mobile apps, according to the company. The solution also comes with in-built censors, which will alert the owners in case of fire, gas leakage, intrusion etc.

The domestic market size of the automation solution industry is estimated to be Rs 500 crore and is growing 20-25 per cent annually.Havells aims to capture 10 per cent market share in this segment and expect revenues of Rs 100 crore by 2020.
