Honda is planning to sell 80,000 units pan India this fiscal, Yasutaka Uda, Director-South, HMSI, told reporters here after launching the bike in the Kerala market.
HMSI has a plan to expand the capacity of its Bangalore manufacturing facility from 12 lakh units a year to 18 lakh by the end of this fiscal. This would raise their total production to 46 lakh units per year including all the three factories, two in Delhi and one in Bangalore.
Asked if there would be any new launches this year, he said Activa-i was launched a few weeks ago, and with this we have total nine models and every quarter a new model would be launched. This year, CB Trigger is the third new product to be launched.
Rise in fuel prices was a challenge, he said.
While the domestic two-wheeler industry grew by 2.5% with 1.4 crore units last year, Honda sold total 27.6 lakh units with an impressive growth of 31%, he claimed.
Honda occupies number one position in Kerala and meets 30% demand for two wheelers in the state, he said.
Ashish Choudhary, Divisional Head-South, said CB Trigger offers real value to the youth who want it all - style, performance, advanced features, mileage and maximum riding comfort.
The new CB Trigger is available in three variants with a price ranged Rs 71,471 (ex-showroom) to Rs 81,141.
