Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) posted a 63.4 per cent increase in its net loss at Rs 3,080.3 crore for the quarter ended June. The company's net loss for the corresponding quarter last year was at Rs 1,884.3 crore.
HPCL registered an increase of 28 per cent in its turnover at Rs 40,438 crore for the June quarter against Rs 31,645 crore in the corresponding period last year. Domestic sales of petroleum products increased to 6.95 million tonnes, registering a growth of 6.2 per cent over the first quarter of previous year, as against the industry average growth of 5.1 per cent. Sales of petrol increased by 7.3 per cent and that of diesel by 11.3 per cent over the first quarter of previous year.
