HTMT Global to set up campus in Durgapur

Just a year after it started BPO operations in Durgapur, HTMT Global Solutions is planning to set up a large campus in the city that can accommodate around 2,000 people in the first phase. The company has purchased an acre and plans to invest close to Rs 25 crore to build the campus, the first phase of which will be operational in early next year.

 

The Hinduja Group company started its BPO operations in the steel city in West Bengal in June last year, and currently has a 600-seat centre in a leased premise. The centre employs close to 1,200 people in two shifts providing voice-based call centre services to its domestic customers including Bharti Airtel.

 

Partha Sarkar, CEO of the Rs 680 crore company said, "We are seeing huge opportunities in the domestic market, which contributes close to 15 per cent of our revenue at the moment. We intend to use the expanded operations in Durgapur for our domestic customers. We also plan to service the international customers from this centre in the future." He added as the demand from the customers increases, the company will expand further in Durgapur in the second phase.

 

In India, HTMT Global has 11 delivery centres located in six different locations including Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Mysore. Besides, the company has global centres located in Philippines, Mauritius and Canada.

 

The company is planning to expand its presence in Mysrore, where it has a small centre with about 40 people. HTMT Global is also expanding its presence in Mumbai where its employs close to 5,000 people. The new 450-seat facility in Mumbai will be operational this year, Sarkar said.

 

The company which is sitting on a cash reserves of about Rs 542 crore, is also looking at possible acquisitions in the Europe and North America. "We are evaluating target for acquisitions which will provide us large client base in Europe and North America. With this, we are also expecting to consolidate our presence in the Healthcare and financial services sector," he said.

 

Currently, the company derives about 26 per cent of its revenue from the telecom sector followed by 24 per cent from healthcare.

 

In the quarter ended 30 June, 2008, the company recorded a 12 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 20 crore over the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. The revenue of the company at Rs 178 crore grew by 17 per cent against the same quarter last fiscal. HTMT Global's employee base stood at 13,575.
