Hyundai Motor India is considering the launch of Carens, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), in India by early 2003. Carens is manufactured by Kia Motors, the Korean subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company.
While the vehicle may be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) initially, if sales volumes are high, the company could import it in the completely knocked down (CKD) form and assemble it in India. Speaking at the sidelines of a press conference here on Saturday, Jae Il Kim, managing director of Hyundai said,
