Nearly a week after chief minister H D Kumaraswamy visited the Infosys campus at Electronics City, the IT major's chairman and chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy showered appreciation on the CM for his proactive steps.

"I find a new sense of determination and urgency to do something. The CM is a very hard working person. I was amazed to learn that he works for 20 hours a day. He gets up very early... I am optimistic about him," he told reporters on Thursday.

Murthy is of the opinion that Kumaraswamy "should be given time. He is moving in the right direction. I am optimistic that he will make the state a better place," he added.

Last week, the CM visited the Infosys campus and described it as an asset of the state. "I feel proud that Infosys, founded by a Kannadiga, is among the top IT firms in the world. The company has brought worldwide laurels for Bangalore," the CM had said.

When asked whether the state government's move to take over the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project would discourage investors, Murthy said: "I do not have the exact data on that subject and I cannot comment on it."
