Indian Airlines (IA) has notched up sales of over 20,000 tickets under its apex fare scheme which it announced a few weeks ago.

Under the scheme, passengers booking tickets three weeks in advance in certain destinations would have to pay fares which are as much as 60 per cent cheaper in the economy class.

IA expects to notch up sales of over 30,000 tickets by the end of this month under the new scheme. According to an internal estimate by IA, the airline hopes to sell over 60,000 tickets through this offer which begins from August 1 and is applicable till October 31.
