The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under the commerce ministry, is setting up its fifth branch and testing laboratory for its various packaging products like plastic, metal and jute packaging material in Bangalore. The branch will offer a two-year post-graduate course on packaging technology among others. It will also provide testing facility for free to its 1,000-odd members. The state has allotted four acres near Bangalore to IIP to set up the institute free of cost.
