US FDA lifts import alert on Aurobindo products

Paves way for resumption of exports of 9 products of the company to the US market

Aurobindo Pharma Limited has said that the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has lifted the import alert for non-sterile products manufactured at its unit-VI cephalosporin facility in Hyderabad.

This paves the way for resumption of exports of nine products by the company to the US market.

The import alert was earlier imposed by the USFDA in February 2011.

Prior to import alert, the unit was having annual United States’ sales of $ 33 million for the said products, Aurobindo stated in a press release on Thursday.

The company's scrip closed on the BSE on Thursday at Rs 145.90. It closed up 11.67 per cent over the previous trading day’s close.
