Indraprastha Gas Ltd, the sole supplier of CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in the national capital region, today reported 16.5% rise in net profit to Rs 77.22 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 66.27 crore in the July-September quarter of 2010-11.
Its revenues rose by 32% to Rs 663.2 crore, IGL said in a filing to the BSE.
CNG sales increased by 14% and piped natural gas' sales rose by 62% in the reporting quarter, it said.
"On an overall basis, there is 23% growth in sales volume during this quarter over the corresponding quarter of FY11, with daily sale averaging at 3.22 million standard cubic metres per day," it added.
