Major expansion plans by startups and mid segment-IT firms on the campus are also fueling the growth of the park. Currently, the park houses 29 companies with around 600 employees. The facility— Kerala’s first satellite centre set up under the hub and spoke model of Infopark Kochi — boasts higher employee retention rate than similar parks in other metropolitan cities.
"It is encouraging to see that the companies are expanding and are looking for new growth avenues. The work on the new 330,000 sft IT block is progressing and it is expected to be ready for operations by March 2015,” Infopark chief executive officer Hrishikesh Nair said.
The park has received around dozen advance bookings for office space at the new building. A gymnasium, a women’s hostel and other recreational facilities are also in the pipeline.
