State-run telecom company ITI today said its turnover jumped more than two-fold to Rs 4,732.43 crore in 2009-10.
This is the highest turnover in the company's history and is more than double of the previous high of Rs 2,317.63 crore recorded in 2001-02, ITI Director (Production) Ravi Agarwal said in a statement.
The company's turnover in 2008-09 was Rs 1,741 crore.
During 2009-10 ITI established a manufacturing facility for gigabit passive optical network (GPoN) at its Rae Bareli plant and supplied equipment to the tune of Rs 270 crore to BSNL, the statement said.
ITI also implemented successfully the National Population Register Project of the Ministry of Home Affairs at its Palakkad Plant in Kerala. The ITI-Huawei combine has enabled BSNL to launch 3G Services in the South Zone.
ITI has initiated action for establishment of a joint venture company at its Rae Bareli, Naini and Bangalore plants for manufacturing WiMAX, GPoN and NGN IP Systems (along with associated equipments).
