Jindal Polyester Ltd, a B C Jindal group company and a leading producer of polyester films, is setting up a plant for manufacturing biaxially-oriented polypropylene (Bopp) film with a capacity of 30,000 tonne per annum (tpa).
The company will invest Rs 125 crore in establishing the new facility, which will involve installation of two new lines. The unit will be located at Bhuj in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The additional output is expected to cater mainly to the domestic packaging industry.
While around 75 per cent production will be targeted at the domestic market, the remaining will be for exports to markets including the US, Australia, Europe and south-east Asia.
