Cement maker JK Lakshmi Cement today said its net profit declined 32.62 per cent to Rs 70.12 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010, over the corresponding period a year ago.
It had a net profit of Rs 104.08 crore in the same period last fiscal, JK Lakshmi Cement, belonging to JK Group, said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income increased to Rs 441.26 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 364.55 crore in the same period last year.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, net profit rose to Rs 241.13 crore from Rs 178.59 crore in the last fiscal.
Total income jumped up to Rs 1490.90 crore in the year under review from Rs 1225.78 crore in the previous year.
The board of directors recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.50 per share. This along with an interim dividend of Re 1 per share works out to be Rs 2.50 for the year 2009-10.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 65.85, up 1.31 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
