JKC in training pact with Autodesk

The AP Society for Knowledge Networks (APSKN), which runs the Jawahar Knowledge Centre, today entered into a memorandum of understanding with Autodesk, Inc, which is into 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.

The MoU envisages collaboration between the two partners in software training and certification programmes to engineering JKCs in the state. It is expected to improve software skills among students and faculty and increase employability of the graduates.

The agreement was signed by Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, CEO, APSKN, and Vincent Chong, who heads the training and certification division of Autodesk. Minister for IT and communications Ponnala Lakshmaiah said, “Creation of employment and building of employable industry-grade skills is a major concern of the government.” He said several other state governments are replicating the JKC model. The Autodesk software is being made available free of cost to all JKC students, according to Reddy.
