The Karnataka government will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the West Asian nation Oman to facilitate investments in the state.
 
Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who returned to Bangalore after a four-day visit to the West Asia, said Oman was keen on replicating the state?s success in the IT sector.
 
"A delegation of the Oman business community will be in Karnataka in September to study the IT sector apart from exploring investment options. The visit will assist both of us in evolving the modalities of the MoU," he added.
 
The CM met Oman commerce and industries minister Maqbool Ali Sultan and emphasised the need to invest in Karnataka. The state invited him to participate in the CII Partnership Summit scheduled in January 2007 in Bangalore.
 
Kumaraswamy also visited the United Arab Emirates. "The UAE too is keen on exploring Karnataka as an investment destination," he stated.
