Under fire over allegations of financial irregularities, the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) Chairman Suresh Kalmadi today admitted there was no contract with the British company to whom payments of £250,000 were made.

“There is no contract between the OC and A M Films which was roped in at the last minute on the recommendation of the Indian High Commission in London,” he said. “If there is something wrong there, I am not responsible for it.”

While the OC said that the firm was roped in for video equipment purchase, A M Films claimed it provided services of car hire, makeshift toilets, barriers and electricity.
