Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation bans Maggi Noodles

Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation [Supplyco] has banned the sale of Maggi Noodles across the state through its outlets. This is in the light of reports on the presence of some chemicals which are hazardous to human health. Food and Civil Supplies minister Anoop Jacob has directed civil supplies corporation to stop the sale Maggi noodles.

The corporation has intimated that the ban will continue till a clarity on the quality of the product is determined. The unsold stock will be returned to the company. Supplyco had a total turnover of Rs 3415 crore during 2013-14 through 1355 outlets across the state.
