Kinetic Motor Company, which recently launched its latest addition in the range of scooterettes, Zing 80, in select cities, is planning to take the model to various destinations in central America.

It will also launch Zing 80 in Latin America, Mauritius, Cyprus and certain other targeted export markets.

Kinetic targets to sell 60,000 units of Zing 80 during the next one year including its sales from the new export markets.

Vismaya Firodia, vice president of Kinetic, said, "Our earlier model Zing was a success in Latin America, Mauritius and Cyprus. It recorded impressive sales during the last year. We are now planning to take Zing 80, the new variant, to new export destinations in central America and Latin America which include countries such as Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. However, we will remain focused on the domestic market where we are targeting to sell 60,000 units of Zing 80 in the next one year. Our major target cities will be Vadodara, Surat, Nagpur, Chennai, Kochi, Indore, Hyderabad and Mumbai from where we expect higher sales."

With the recent launch in Ahmedabad, Kinetic has so far introduced Zing 80 in Pune, Bangalore and cities in Gujarat including Surat and Vadodara.

"Zing 80 builds on the success of the popular Kinetic Zing and is expected to go straight to the top of the scooterette sales chart. Within 18 months of launch, the Zing has captured around 25 per cent of the market share in the scooterette segment in the key locations and with the launch of Zing 80, Kinetic is looking at doubling the market share in this segment to 50 per cent from the existing 25 per cent. We have lined up an aggressive promotion plan for the new model over the months and to tap the youth segment, Kinetic has signed in many leading VJs from MTV," Firodia, who was recently in Ahmedabad to launch the vehicle, said.

As Gujarat is a major contributor in Kinetic's revenue from scooter and scooterette sales, the company has been working on strengthening its existing distribution network in the state.

Kinetic is also going to introduce Italjet brand scooters in the Indian market under an exclusive licensing agreement with the Italian two-wheeler major.

Earlier in January, Kinetic entered into a strategic alliance with Italjet for manufacturing and distribution of Italjet brand scooters across the globe.
