City-based power plant developer, KSK Energy Ventures Limited, has commenced power generation from its 135-Mw lignite-fired project in Rajasthan. The project, undertaken through a special purpose vehicle – VS Lignite Power Private Limited (VSLP) – is a group captive power plant and will primarily cater to the requirements of industrial consumers in Rajasthan through long-term power delivery agreements, the company said.
The Rajasthan project, spread over an area of approximately 1,200 hectare, is based on lignite supplies from the Gurha East captive lignite block located in Bikaner district. The lignite is planned to meet the entire requirement of 1 tonne per annum, which is required for generation of 135-Mw power at VSLP.
