M&M appoints Anish Shah as head of special projects

Shah joins Mahindra from General Electric (GE), where he was President and Chief Executive Officer for GE Capital India

Mahindra & Mahindra today announced the appointment of Anish Shah as President - Group Special Projects from August 1, 2014. He will also be inducted into the Group Executive Board.
 
Shah joins Mahindra from General Electric (GE), where he was President and Chief Executive Officer for GE Capital India since May 2009. In this role, he led the transformation of the business, including a turnaround of the SBI Card joint venture, which has achieved significant growth and profitability.

Shah holds a Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School of Business where his doctoral thesis was on corporate governance. He also received a Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon and has a post-graduate diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai.
